MEET MAKEUP ARTIST CLARA CAMPBELL

Melbourne, Australia.
Virgo!
Well well well, I’ve honestly been curious about makeup from when I could remember. As a child, you would find me stealing my mum’s makeup, lining up my dolls and even my stuffed animals and giving them all a ‘much needed’ makeover.
My first real encounter with starting my career came in 2012 when I studied a Diploma of Specialist Makeup Services. To be real though, my artistry didn’t come through until I got offered a job at MAC Cosmetics a year later, where I was on a constant look out of more tenured artists, wanting to suck in all of the inspiration that I possibly could.
I feel as though my passion in its biggest form came only when I decided to venture out 100% on my own and pursue my own very small business. Here I am today more passionate then ever about the makeup industry and bringing my artistry to life.
Cliché but, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! I wish I could have told my younger self that because it is the best advice given. If you dream, it can become reality if you believe in yourself and work towards it. Everyone starts from the bottom! Practice, practice, practice! I saw my artistry blossom when I began reaching out to people and offering free makeovers to build up my content on Instagram & showing people my very own style of artistry when I first started. Hard work definitely pays off, always. Make sure to show the world what kind of makeup artist you truly are, be 100% open to all opportunities, collaborations & never stop learning because you never should, I’m still learning every single day! Don’t wait for the ‘right time’ to throw yourself out there and follow your dreams because there is never going to be a right time but there is always YOUR TIME!
Hard question to answer… but I would probably have to say @hannahmckimmie! She was one of the first ever faces that I worked with and defs my original muse! If you don’t know of her you should go and stalk her right now! She was also the first face I had worked on to get reposted by Mecca Cosmetica, which was such a goal of mine! I remember the both of us jumping up and down over text! Super special moment!
I die over a nicely crisped winged liner! I feel as though if I could only choose one makeup look to do, it would defs be a wing! I feel as though a wing sums up my makeup style as a lot of my clientele come to me knowing that I LOVE to wing it! Paired with a semi ombre glossy nude lip and I’m like YESSSS!!!
Aghhhhh I just LOVE a nude lip combo, especially a glossy one! If I had to choose just one combo, I can always count on the ‘Stripdown’ lip pencil, ‘Honeylove’ lipstick & ‘Moth To Flame’ Dazzleglass lipgloss – all from MAC Cosmetics
To be real, I’m still picking up anything and everything I can about the perfect glowing skin! We all know that a lot comes down to the prep of the skin and atm I am absolutely loving the ‘tatcha dewy skin cream’ unless your super oily I find that its just the most magical base for glow! Illuminating primers are also a big catch in my routines. On a more natural look id much rather use liquid or cream illuminators or blushes just to give that super fresh glow from within, however, I find that someone who is wanting a more fuller coverage glam look I tend to use more powder highlighters, I love my highlighted areas to still look like skin so I avoid any gritty, powdery chunky highlighters.
Tatcha – Dewy Skin Cream!
This is the most luxurious moisturiser with an incredible feel and the name speaks for itself!
MAC – Stripdown Lip Pencil
Stripdown is without a doubt my all time favourite brown nude lip pencil, I Find that its so versatile and can be worn slightly outlining the lips for a natural pout or all over the lips for a plump nude brown lip!
MAC – Strobe Cream
Lets just say this is beautiful all over the body. Face, Legs, chest and pretty much anywhere you desire for a beautiful instant illuminating glow. I love this product especially to use as an illuminating moisturiser all over the face for days where you want a healthy glow but don’t want to wear makeup. It also helps with evening out skin tones as well as redness. I love it!
I’m actually a big fan of dewy setting spays, my absolute favourite and number one go to is the Anastasia Beverly hills dewy set spray. To be fair though the main reason I ADORE this product is because it leaves the skin with such a beautiful dewy, luminous, sun-kissed glow.
My favourite makeup artist on Instagram would have to be Claudia Neascu @claudianeascu from Romania. The artistry she brings to the table is just insanely beautiful and her work inspires me so much!
