It’s fair to say that the bucket has come a long way since its debut on Bob Denver in the 1960s hit sitcom, Gilligan's Island… am I right?
Looking back, perhaps its most iconic era was when the bucket flooded the rap scene of the 80’s and early 90s. A certain LL Cool J comes to mind… wearing his iconic Kangol bucket hat and gold chains.
I don’t know about you, but I feel like he was solely responsible for transforming the humble bucket into a hip-hop essential.
Since then, the bucket has become a key element in street style culture, spotted upon the heads of lads (and now ladies) everywhere.
Considering we’re living during a period in fashion where ‘it’s cool to be uncool’, I reckon it’s officially time to reassess the bucket sitch and commit to the trend.
Still not convinced? Well…
Come 2018, the bucket has now successfully graced the heads of modern-day Queens: Rihanna, Kaia Gerber and our ultimate style inspo, *drumroll please* Bella Hadid.
It’s fair to say that in order to rock the bucket, the girls have given it a modern-day spin, opting to pair it with raw-edge denim, kicks and their trusty bum bags.
In my opinion, this is the seal of approval that we’ve all been waiting for. The time has officially come to go ahead and grab that bucket you’ve been eyeing off for weeks now.
You can shop our very own Nakedvice bucket hat here.
Go girl go.
