WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU STARTED BANGN BODY?

I was in Corporate Business before starting Bangn Body which was extremely beneficial to starting my second life now in Skincare.

WHAT IS YOUR JOB ROLE NOW?

Director and CEO of Bangn Body. I am also still very much still in the day-to-day operations and love working with my team on amazing product launches, campaigns, partnerships/collabs and overall customer experience.

TYPICAL DAY AT THE OFFICE?

I start my day with a tea, mostly green. I just feel it keeps me in routine and I can drink my tea while replying to emails. Then I will have multiple collaboration calls with my amazing Business and Communications Manager Georgia as well as work closely with other members of the team to roll our campaigns, new product releases, photoshoots, digital marketing and social strategy alignements etc.

WHAT WAS THE IDEA THAT STARTED BANGN BODY?

I struggled with my skin as a teenager and also in my early adult years, it really had an emotional and mental effect on me and I tried everything to help heal and protect my skin. My mum was a huge part of my wellness journey in helping my skin with natural remedies and products. After many years, my mum encouraged me to look at creating my own line of skincare that could finally help my skin as well as many others going through the same thing. Creating multi-faceted and simple skincare that are purposeful and results driven has been the most beneficial for my skin and now for many others.

WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME 'BANGN BODY'?

I have always believed everyone deserves to feel "BANGN" It shouldn't conform to a stereotype or person, it could be anyone and anything! Being "Bangn" comes from the core inside ones self and is shared with people to encourage community and inclusion.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?

I am a very creative person and can get inspired from a puff of wind haha, from books to life experiences and everything in between. Pinterest also comes in handy when focusing on a particular direction and to generate a feeling mood board.

BIGGEST PINCH ME MOMENT?

There have been a few, but the most memorable so far has been Forbes 30 under 30, donating a large amount to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and receiving all the incredible results and feedback from our customers.

YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT FROM THE RANGE?

A hard one as it's like choosing a favourite child haha, but if I had to pick it would be the Firming Lotion, Smooth Skin Scrub and Firming & Brightening Beauty Treatment.

BIGGEST LESSON LEARNT FROM BUILDING YOUR OWN BUSINESS?

Always trust your gut and never let fear stop you from pivoting, it could be the biggest game changer in your business.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WANTING TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS?

Always focus on your "why" and never sway from it! Always have passion and purpose for what you are doing and always focus on ways you can be original/different from what is currently in your industry. Celebrate the small wins just as much as the big ones.
